Attendees will get an exclusive first look at new system features including sub-ambient battery cooling and the ability to integrate with analog-style gauges and switches.
(Atlanta, Oct. 9, 2023) – Ampere EV, the industry-leading manufacturer of EV conversion systems, has announced that its Atom Drive System will be featured in seven vehicles across six different ICE chassis at the 2023 SEMA Show, held October 31-November 1 in Las Vegas.
The Atom Drive System, developed by world-class engineers, is the proven drivetrain choice among seasoned and new installers. The system includes flexible battery pack mounting; CCS fast charging; HVAC and cabin heat; and a high-quality touchscreen user interface—all built in-house, pre-configured, and ready to install. SEMA attendees will also get an exclusive first look at new system features including sub-ambient battery cooling and the ability to integrate with analog-style gauges and switches.
Ampere EV-Swapped American Muscle
The impressive lineup of classic iron is highlighted by a race-ready Ford GT40 conversion from Southfield Classics, renowned builder and custom fabrication specialists out of Flowery Branch, GA. This car is the first vehicle with Ampere’s sub-ambient battery cooling system for track vehicles and conversions in extreme climates. It features a Cascadia IDM-190 integrated drive module and Ampere’s CCS fast charging, HVAC kit, a motorsports safety kit, and vacuum pump kit for converting pump-driven accessories to electric power.
Southfield Classics is also bringing two classic Chevy 3100s to SEMA:
- One will be on display in the FutureTech Studio (Central Hall, Booth #24401) dressed in white, complete with Ampere EV’s 84kWh battery pack, Cascadia Motion IM-225 motor/inverter mated to a TorqueTrends transmission, CCS fast charging, HVAC, cabin heat, and a vacuum pump kit. The Atom Drive System’s VCU transmits data to a Dakota Digital analog gauge set for driver information.
- The second Chevy 3100 features a gorgeous patina green finish and Atom Drive System that controls a Cascadia IM-225 Motor/inverter powered by a 42 kWh battery pack, TorqueTrends transmission driveline configuration, CCS fast charging, cabin heat and a vacuum pump kit. This vehicle will be on display in Ampere EV’s booth, #24613.
Out West, classic car conversion specialists Foremost EV have transformed their show-stopping 1960 Ford F100 using Ampere’s Atom Drive System with 84 kWh battery pack, power-packed 536HP Revolt CR-43 motor/inverter that puts power through a TorqueTrends HD transmission, with CCS fast charging for quick fill ups and onboard heat and AC to keep the cabin temperate in all conditions. A vacuum pump kit is also included for converting pump-driven accessories.
Atom Drive-Equipped British Icons
Three Atom Drive System-equipped Euros will bow at SEMA in 2023, including a Jaguar E-Type and a Land Rover D110, built by the conversion specialists at E.C.D. Automotive Design.
- The Jag E-Type uses a Cascadia IM-225 motor that transfers power through a TorqueTrends transmission. The Jag will arrive with full HVAC controls and CCS fast charging.
- E.C.D. Automotive Design’s fully-restored Land Rover Defender 110 will be on display in Ampere EV’s booth (#24613) while its Defender 90 will be on display in the Airbag Man booth, #57221. The D110 features an Atom Drive System with a Cascadia IM-225 motor that sends power through a Cascadia Motion SR309 gearbox. All vehicle accessory controls are managed using the physical buttons thanks to Ampere EV’s new analog switch control kit, including heat and air conditioning. An 84 kWh battery pack maximizes range, and is filled quickly thanks to Ampere’s CCS fast charging kit.
“We started Ampere EV because of our experience trying to convert a car to electric in 2019,” said Ampere EV CEO Matt White. “We want to demystify the process by providing engineered systems that can be fitted to ICE chassis, but we know one size doesn’t fit all. That’s why we support multiple motor configurations, offer different battery pack sizes, and provide features that won’t compromise the experience. We are very proud that our goal is being realized through the integration of the Atom Drive System on multiple different chassis at SEMA, on vehicles that were started this year. It’s the best evidence we can offer that our EV conversion system comes complete with the documentation and support necessary for installation into any vehicle without issue.”
SEMA attendees are invited to check out electric builds featuring the Atom Drive System at Ampere EV’s booth, #24613. Any media who wish to learn more or set up an interview with the Ampere EV team should contact Cesar Hernandez at ch@omnipublic.global.
